Privacy
This is the short version: the website collects nothing, the apps send nothing, and the only time we learn anything about you is when you choose to write to us or buy something through PayPal.
1. The website
dphms.org is a set of static files. There is no account, no login, no newsletter, no analytics script, no advertising pixel, no tracking cookie and no third-party script of any kind. Nothing you do on these pages is recorded by the pages themselves.
The one thing stored on your device is localStorage, used in two places: a flag so the opening film only plays once per session, and the reaction counts on the forum, which live only in your browser. Clearing site data erases both. Neither is ever transmitted to us.
Our host, Vercel, keeps standard request logs (IP address, user agent, path, timestamp) to serve and protect the site. Those logs are theirs, and we do not build profiles from them.
2. Email and the forum
The forum does not have accounts. A thread you start, or a reply you send, opens your own mail client and is delivered to us as email, and it may be published on the forum page with the name you typed. Keep that in mind: anything you send may appear publicly. Never send a password, a payment detail or a personal document.
3. Buying an app
Payments are processed by PayPal. We never see or store a card number, and no payment data touches this site. PayPal tells us the item, the amount, the transaction identifier and the email address associated with the payment, and that is what we use to confirm the purchase and answer support mail. PayPal's own privacy policy governs everything inside their checkout.
Delivery links are encrypted and content-hashed. They are served from this domain with no referrer and no indexing, and we keep no customer database, so there is no purchase history sitting anywhere to be breached.
4. The apps
The house apps do not include analytics, crash reporting or advertising libraries, and they do not call home. What they know about your phone stays on your phone. Brain, our own memory app, is explicit about this: it stores what it learns in local app storage on the device.
To work, the apps run commands at uid 2000, the Android shell user. That means they can read and change system settings you have authorised them to change. It does not give them, or us, a connection to anywhere. Nothing is uploaded.
5. What we never do
- No selling, renting or sharing of any data with advertisers or data brokers.
- No background connection from an app to a DPHMS server.
- No third-party package holding your consent dialogs.
- No dark-pattern consent wall to dismiss: there is nothing to consent to.
6. Your choices and your data
You can clear the site's local storage at any time in your browser settings. You can ask us to delete any email you have sent, or to remove a forum post you contributed, by writing to 4ranicola@gmail.com. Because we keep no customer database, a deletion request is usually a matter of deleting one thread from one mailbox.
7. Children
These tools require understanding of Android system settings and are not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
8. Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and material changes will be announced in the RSS feed and on the forum. Questions, corrections or a deletion request: 4ranicola@gmail.com.
